Matthew Diamond, Principal

After graduating from George Mason University, Mr. Diamond started as a History teacher at Charles City Middle School in Charles City County Public Schools in 2006. After two years, Mr. Diamond transferred to Richmond Public Schools. Mr. Diamond spent eight years teaching at Thompson Middle School in RPS. In 2016, he joined team Chesterfield as a Social Studies teacher at Falling Creek Middle School.

After a year of teaching at Falling Creek Middle School, Mr. Diamond decided to pursue a degree in Administration and Supervision. That same year, he was hired as the Dean of Students at FCMS where he spent two years in that role. During his time as Dean of Students, Mr. Diamond worked closely with the ESL students, Social Studies department, and started an outdoor adventure club to support students in their social/emotional development. In 2019, Mr. Diamond graduated from UVA with a masters in Administration and Supervision. That same year, he moved to Robious Middle School as the Associate Principal. After three years, Mr. Diamond became principal of RMS in June of 2022.

Mr. Diamond feels that kindness and communication are key to a successful partnership and is honored to be the principal of Robious Middle School. Go Raiders!

Erin Guthe, Associate Principal

Erin Guthe joined the Robious community as Assistant Principal in 2022, bringing with her fourteen years of experience as an educator. Originally from Knoxville, TN, Erin graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2004 with a degree in Fine and Performing Arts, and pursued her teaching certification, which she earned from Old Dominion University in 2008. Erin started her educational career in Hampton, VA, where she enjoyed serving as Instructional Coach in addition to working with students in the English Language Arts classroom. Upon relocating to Richmond, VA in 2015, Erin joined Chesterfield County Public Schools, again teaching in the English Language Arts classroom. Erin worked as Dean of Students at Clover Hill High School and earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia in 2021. She is currently pleased to be serving in the capacity of Associate Principal at Robious MS. She enjoys working with teachers and students and finds joy in building strong relationships based on mutual respect and trust. Erin lives with her wife and dog in Richmond, and loves to garden, play video games, read, and spend time with her family.

Julie Kutchi

Julie Kutchi, Assistant Principal

Julie is going into her 10th year in education and is excited to remain at Robious as the Assistant Principal. She began her career at Falling Creek Middle School where she worked for 7 years. During her time at Falling Creek, she was an Algebra 1/Algebra Prep Teacher, Math Department Chair, Title 1 Math Coach, and Coordinator of the 21st Century After School Program. She worked at Elizabeth Davis Middle School for one year as an Algebra 1 Teacher. She received her Bachelors from Longwood University in Elementary and Middle School Education with endorsements in Math and Science. She received her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Richmond. She went back to Longwood to add on a Leadership Endorsement. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with my family and friends!

Headshot of Faith Person

Faith Person, Dean of Students

Ms. Person is a proud graduate of Richard Bland College, Virginia Commonwealth University, and soon to be Virginia State University. Ms. Person began her educational career in Hopewell City Public Schools teaching 6th grade math for three years. While here, Ms. Person was awarded the Rookie Teacher of the Year. Early into her teaching career, she decided she wanted to pursue a career in Administration. After a few years at Carter G Woodson Middle School, she then went to Elizabeth Davis Middle School where she taught 7th grade math for one year. She also served in the United States Army Reserve for eight years as a Paralegal Specialist. She is excited to be at Robious this year to serve as the Dean of Students. Ms. Person is passionate about building relationships with students and families, as well as uplifting, mentoring, and collaborating with teachers. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and perfecting her new found hobby, bowling.
